Citizens Church Annapolis Sermons

God's purposes in history are far bigger than we can imagine. He doesn't need us to move them forward; but he does welcome us to partner with him anyway.

2 Samuel 7

What is worship? It’s a response to God that is whole hearted, exhaustive and enduring. The cynic will limit worship; the true worshipper has no limits.

2 Samuel 5-7

David's first years as king are filled with eventful turns. And David does well, and he does poorly, and everything in between. Life is like that. And God is still conducting it all, like a Great Conductor behind a symphony. David's life teaches us to consider life like a song.

Pastor Joey continues our study in Samuel, bringing the story of Saul to a close with a teaching on avoiding a tragic story through committing to God, at every turn.

David could have trusted himself, or God. Everyone's longing for a leader. It's not David though. There is only one Leader worth trusting.

Pastor Joey continues our series in 1 Samuel by examing the dynamics between Saul and the Lord's Anointed -- David -- who is a foreshadowing of Jesus.

Are we honoring or resisting the Lord's Anointed?

Our Pastoral Resident, Jake, illuminates the classic story of David and Goliath.

1 Samuel 16-17

Pastor Joey shows from the life of Saul how someone can start so well and have so much potential, yet finish poorly.

Pastor Andrew continues our study in 1 Samuel, showing us how God works even when we reject him.

We disregard and rob God of his glory, so God withdraws his glory, eliminates alternative glories, and chases us with his glory, till we reconnect with his glory.
